2. Personal information we collect
We may collect the contact, delivery, order, return and customer-service information you provide to us, together with marketing preferences and limited technical information generated when you use the website. Payment providers send us transaction status and reference information, but we do not receive your complete payment-card details. We do not intentionally ask customers to provide special personal information through the website.
3. How and why we use information
We use personal information to process orders, arrange delivery or collection, provide tracking, manage returns, answer enquiries, operate the website, improve our products and customer experience, keep required business records and prevent misuse. We process information with consent, when needed to perform a contract, when required by law, or for a legitimate business interest that does not unreasonably override your privacy rights.
4. Cookies and direct marketing
The website may use cookies needed for shopping and checkout, together with functional or analytics technologies used to understand visits and improve performance. You can manage cookies through your browser, although blocking essential cookies may affect site functions. Promotional email or WhatsApp messages are sent only where permitted by POPIA. You may unsubscribe at any time without affecting order or customer-service messages.
5. Sharing with service providers
We do not sell personal information. We share only what is reasonably necessary with providers that support payment processing, delivery and tracking, website operation, analytics, email, accounting and professional advice, and with regulators or authorities where required by law. These providers are expected to keep the information secure and use it only for the authorised purpose.
6. Cross-border processing and retention
Some technology providers may process information outside South Africa. Where this happens, we take reasonable steps to seek protection consistent with POPIA. We retain personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes described here or to meet legal, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention and dispute requirements, after which it is deleted or anonymised where appropriate.
7. Security and data incidents
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the personal information we hold and restrict access to people or providers who need it for an authorised purpose. No online service can guarantee absolute security. Where POPIA requires it, we will notify the Information Regulator and affected individuals of a qualifying security compromise as soon as reasonably possible.
8. Your rights
Subject to POPIA, you may ask whether we hold your personal information, request access, ask us to correct inaccurate information, request deletion where appropriate, object to certain processing, withdraw consent and opt out of direct marketing. We may need to verify your identity before responding. Send requests to the Information Officer at movingmodesty@gmail.com.
9. Complaints, changes and contact
Please contact the Information Officer first at movingmodesty@gmail.com or +27 76 651 4548 if you have a privacy concern. You may also complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa through its official contact channels. We may update this policy when our practices or legal obligations change and will publish the revised date on this page.
